Retribution Gospel Choir take the catchy beats from Low and turn up the amps to play a great mix of crude guitar rock with some of the bluesiest stoner-rock I’ve heard in awhile. Combined with Sparhawk’s usual dark lyrics, his vocals do not take top seat over the music, making for a very heavy sound.

Their nine minute epic, “Poor Man’s Daughter”, has to be one of the best jam’s I’ve heard this year.

I really enjoyed this opening set from them, reminded me a lot of Low. Lia Rose has a wonderful voice and this type of lo-fi indie rock suites her very well.
