!!! were a pure joy to shoot. The second they hit the stage the energy was easily felt and they ran back and forth on the stage. Probably one of the most fun performances of the day for me. I really felt challenged for the first time all day to shoot them and get it all in frame, no blur, and focused.

The Walkmen were really great to be able to see, but the singers style of performing made for a challenging shoot. He holds his mic close to his face and with his left hand so getting a shot where his face wasn’t covered proved to be challenging. Luckily I was able to get at least a few in!

Kaz of PWRFL Power played to what would have been a sold out crowd on the EMP’s Sky Church stage. There has been so much buzz about his act that there was even a line of about one hundred people waiting outside trying to get in.

Damien Jurado and Jen Wood played to a packed plaza on the Wells Fargo Stage featuring a round table of songs and poetry by local artists to bring more attention to the Fremont Abby Arts Center.

Nada Surf, minus their bassist/plus one Ozma bassist, played live on KEXP the first day of the festival from the “super secret” location in the downtown center. To a packed house, which extended to a line out the door, they played a great mix of old and new songs, even bringing out the classic “Amateur”. [...]
