On Tuesday, February 24th, I was honored to be able to host one of David Bazan’s house shows here in my own home. Having to clean the house was a whole other issue that my girlfriend, Rachel, and I had to deal with, but the end result was very much worth it. Everything dusted and cleaned we welcomed about 50 or so guests into our home to chat, drink, and sit on our floor to watch Dave play most of his new album. Playing nearly the entire album acoustically, he was the most social I’d seen him in awhile with a crowd asking questions back and forth during the hour and a half set.

For those of you who might have missed him this time around, a new round of house shows were just announced across the entire USA.

I decided to make the trek over the hill to Santa Cruz to catch the next of Dave’s house shows that he is playing in the area. He’s actually playing at my place this coming Tuesday, but being the audiophile freak I am, I couldn’t pass up recording these couple of shows.

Hopefully if you are in the LA area you were able to get tickets to one of the four shows he’s playing down there.

These are just a couple of simple shots from my seat last night, nothing too special.

David Bazan, House Show, Berkeley, CA – 2009.02.18

A buddy of mine, David Bazan, is playing a small string of house shows here in the Bay Area. Last night he played in Berkeley, tonight is Santa Cruz, and next week is here in San Jose. It was a great evening, a very intimate show setting with some really awesome Q & A sessions.
